about me

stephanie jenkins

I am officially in my 60's, married, retired from a middle management job and grandmother to two beautiful girls.  While I dearly love my family and friends, I am an introvert at heart and find myself in nature, photography, camping and kayaking, and most of all, painting.

People say artistic talent runs in my family. My grandmother bought some paints from a school supply outfit she and my grandfather worked for. They both tried painting but with Grandpa it stuck. My mother taught herself a bit and left us many treasures, and my brother picked it up from Grandpa and has been a landscape artist for 40 years.

I didn't find my art until a few years ago walking through an arts and crafts festival. No training, no school, just a wild lark that included a set of the cheapest acrylic paints I could find, wood scraps from my husband's workshop, and my grandfather's homemade easel. Now I can't imagine my life or my sense of self without it.
